Amazon.com Review
Bosch builds good saws. This 10-inch sliding compound miter saw has the smooth, easy-to-control action we demand in a slider. This saw's built burly, too here's a slider that looks likely to survive a tumble off the back of a pickup truck (not that we tested it). The blade guard has good action and retracts well, so visibility and motion aren't restricted when cutting and there's no danger of it binding or sticking. The grip is contoured and tapered for the human hand, no matter the size but there is a safety switch that makes this saw difficult to use left-handed. Bosch has also cleverly mounted the important wrenches and keys on the body of the saw (exactly the sort of attention to detail that makes toolhounds happy). We tip our hardhats to the good people at Bosch; they've made a great saw.

From the Manufacturer
Doing trim work just got easier with this 10-inch-slide compound miter saw from Bosch. Designed for heavy-duty, versatile-use, and long-life reliability, the powerful 13 amp motor and Bosch Platinum series 10-inch, 60-tooth, thin-kerf carbide blades are engineered for smooth, accurate cuts. You will quickly and precisely cut crown molding using the positive crown molding miter detents and exclusive crown molding bevel stops at 0, 33.9, and 45 degrees. The 10 wedge and slot design miter stops (52 degrees left and 62 degrees right) guarantee consistent and accurate angles for positive, confident cutting. A miter detent override allows for micro-adjustments and precise miter angle setup while the dual rail design provides high accuracy over an extended range. Your saw purchase includes a 10-inch, 60-tooth carbide blade, two wrenches, dust bag, work clamp, and table inserts. Please note: the dust bag does not collect dust for most miter or chop cuts. It will only capture the dust when making a sliding cut.

Well, I really wanted the Makita 12" slider but the $$ was just too much. I have been a carpenter for 16 yrs and I have been told that I am a bit picky about my equipment TRUE!! For the money this is simply an AMAZING saw. It is quiet, smooth and after some minor tweaking totally accurate. Sure the dust bag [doesn't operate well] but I have never seen a slider that didn't throw dust everywhere UNLESS you invest in a vac dust collection system. If you are a professional carpenter and dust makes you crazy then I would suggest buying a shop vac and adapting it to fit your saw or get therapy!! The mitre range 52 - 62 degrees is great for any finish carpenter who works in the real world where framers can't (for the most part) make a 90 degree angle. The motor plows through thick hardwoods without complaint. The bearings keep the slide perfectly in place. You have the option of using the fixed degrees or keeping the plate on an open slide that locks with the proven fail proof screw handle. I wish it tilted both ways but... If you are thinking about investing in a slider BUY THIS SAW BEFORE THE SALE IS OVER!! The next best saw in this category is the Hitachi, they are tough as hell but they aren't on sale and they are pretty loud but an excellent saw as well.
