PowerDriver screwdriver features an automatic spindle lock for greater control when starting and finishing screws or for manual use if desired.

  • Automatic spindle lock for greater control when starting and finishing screws
  • Forward/reverse
  • Narrow nose-piece for extended reach in tight places
  • Runs at 180 rpm and delivers 40in./lbs. of torque
  • Two year home use warranty Review
Black & Decker's 3.6-volt PowerDriver is perfect for assembling furniture, mounting shelving, changing hardware, or any project where turning a standard screwdriver would be a painstaking process. The rocker switch toggles easily between forward and reverse, and the automatic spindle lock allows you to manually start screws or finish them without stripping or overtightening. When installing hardware in hard-to-reach places, the narrow nosepiece gives you an extended reach. The impressive VersaPak battery system is interchangeable with all Black & Decker VersaPak products. The battery is easy to remove, too: just press the button near the bottom of the screwdriver. To replace, push the battery in and you're set. The 1.2 amp, 3.6-volt battery gives you plenty of torque with a longer running time between uses. And, with its wall-mount charger, you'll always know where this screwdriver is or at least where it's supposed to be.

Missing Piece, August 13, 2002

Seems like a fine tool--I just can't use it.

I waited 2 weeks for it to arrive only to find the bit was missing from the package. Now I get to wait another 7-10 days for it to arrive.

I would have been better off buying this at a hardware store.

Great for home or on the road PC repair techs, April 22, 2002

Having gone through two years of going with manual solutions, I finally bought this baby and saved an overall 50-60% of time that I normally employed to screw/unscrew all that a PC repair tech might think of. Plus the interchangeable head is a real plus. You never screw too tight or too loose, every job is a perfect fit. Would appreciate a longer lasting battery though.

Great Handy Screwdriver, April 21, 2002
Reviewer: David Lindamood from Cadillac, Michigan United States
This cordless screwdriver is great for the normal around the home type jobs. The forward/reverse action allows for driving or retriving the screws, along with a spindle lock for starting the screw manually. The screwdriver is rated at 180rpm with 40 in/lbs of torque, which will not allow the over torque of a screw or even stripping a screw out, even in hardwood! The charging system is great, it seems to last even longer than the rating of 350 screws on a charge.

A great handy screwdriver for around the house.

Good Screw Runner, January 25, 2002

Since I own the pivoting model, I bought this one, too, for good measure. I took it to 4H summer camp week last year for the kids to use on their woodwork class projects, so I know its ruggged. I used it to assemble my big work tables for the shop area, too. Quite a useful tool to keep around, especially when you have lots of screws to run. It doesn't have quite the power you would think, like when running short drywall screws into wood, but it will do those jobs. I really like the nuetral position on the switch, which lets you lock the tool off. The pivot model needs that switch feature, too. Often, it starts running while in my back pocket or tool tote when the switch catches on something.

No Stripping Or Over-Tightening, September 1, 2001

Let me start out my saying that I love my wife for getting me this as a gift. This is the gift that just keeps on giving.

The Black & Decker 9074TB 3.6 Volt Screwdriver is perfect for any job around the house that would involve the painstaking task of driving in screws. I just finished putting up several shelves in my bedroom, and it has never been easier thanks to this wonderful product.

The automatic spindle lock gives you much better control, allowing for no stripping or over-tightening, or even just for simple, manual use. Its sleak design and narrow nose gives you the ability to get into tight places with great ease.

This is a well-designed product with a super charge life. Besides being durable and fairly lightweight, the wall-mounting charge base should make it a lot easier to find. This screwdriver works extremely well, and will make a fine addition to any tool box.

Father Like Sons, June 9, 2001

I have bought two of these screwdrivers and each has disappeared as sons went off to college. I now need to buy a third one. Black and Decker thank God there are no more sons. I get to keep this one. What a great product. O.W. Nagel...Ballwin, MO.
